245 caterpillar excavator attachment

We only ever made one of these fitted to the first long reach caterpillar excavator in the uk and the first job it went on was in Liverpool.
It was not a complete success as the ram that was outsourced destroyed itself the blame got passed around but was never resolved.
Instead of a powered rotator the unit could be tapped against the building and had full 360 degree rotation and saved a lot of money on control circuits and motors etc a hydraulic oil rotation joint was fitted in the middle of the "head" part. We also missed the fact the some already in production had a simple gear system in side this meant the jaws moved in unison but was not a major issue.
